Our Mission

The Bays Medical Society was established as an organization in 1948 and has been serving the physicians and patients of the Panama City area ever since. Because of the growth and expansion, in 2014 the society evolved into the Emerald Coast Medical Association.

We are both a professional and scientific organization of medical and osteopathic physicians, and the local affiliate of both the Florida Medical Association (FMA).
Although membership is voluntary, many physicians choose to join because they know they are most effective in attaining quality medical care with a strong team surrounding them.

Our members value superior relations between physicians and patients. Therefore, assistance is made available through our Board of Directors to mediate any unresolved grievances patients may have with physicians who are Society members.

The Emerald Coast Medical Association also provides cutting edge Continuing Medical Education to all physicians desiring to excel. Scientific Sessions are held every Spring that draw physicians near and far.
Additionally, our Board of Directors routinely take time out of their busy schedules to advocate for patients and physicians at the local, State, and Federal level.

We hope to continue our mission of “Empowering Physicians to Promote the Highest Quality Patient Care” for a very long time.

“The Emerald Coast Medical Association advocates for physicians and their patients through its activities at the local level and has a strong voice in the Florida Medical Association. The member benefits program continues to grow, providing practice-related services and cost savings. But there is a social side to membership as well; the regular meetings on a broad range of topics encourage physicians to get together, network, and share experiences, in a convivial atmosphere.”
